The Role
Position Overview
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Design and program PLC-based control systems using Allen-Bradley and Modicon platforms
- Develop HMI/SCADA applications using AVEVA InTouch, FactoryTalk View, and Ignition
- Perform field commissioning and startup of control systems at client facilities
- Create electrical and controls design drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop control system narratives and functional specifications
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing client systems
- Travel to project sites across Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and other Western states (25–40%)
What You Bring
Requirements
Required
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in industrial controls and SCADA system integration
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000 and/or Modicon Unity Pro
- Experience with at least one HMI/SCADA platform (AVEVA InTouch, FactoryTalk, Ignition)
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DNP3)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 2 years
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment applications
- Familiarity with ISA-101 HMI design standards
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, AWWA)
- AVEVA Certified System Integrator credential
