Generic panels don't fit specific facility requirements

Off-the-shelf control panels are designed for generic applications and rarely accommodate the specific I/O counts, communication protocols, environmental conditions, and space constraints of your facility. Modifying stock panels after purchase often costs more than building custom from the start and compromises the panel's UL listing.

Panels sourced from fabrication-only shops frequently arrive without adequate testing—wiring errors, misconfigurations, and labeling issues aren't discovered until field installation, when corrections are most expensive and time-consuming.

Poor panel layout and documentation create ongoing maintenance headaches. When a relay fails at 2 AM, the maintenance technician needs clear labeling, logical wire routing, and accurate as-built drawings to diagnose and repair the issue quickly.

Purpose-built panels with engineering-driven design

Every panel we build starts with detailed engineering—not fabrication. Our engineers develop complete panel layouts, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings before shop fabrication begins. This engineering-first approach ensures the panel is designed for your specific application, your space constraints, and your maintenance team's needs.

Panel fabrication takes place in our shop where we control quality at every step. Components are mounted per the engineered layout, wiring is routed for clarity and serviceability, and every panel undergoes point-to-point continuity testing, megger testing, and functional testing before leaving our facility.

We provide comprehensive documentation packages including as-built panel layout drawings, wiring diagrams, component data sheets, and spare parts lists. Every wire is labeled, every terminal is identified, and every component is documented.

Custom Control Panel Design FAQ

Common questions about this service.

Are your control panels UL listed?
Yes. All of our control panels are designed and fabricated in accordance with UL 508A, the Standard for Industrial Control Panels. Each panel receives appropriate UL listing labels upon completion of our quality assurance process.
What environmental ratings do you offer?
We fabricate panels in NEMA 1, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 enclosure ratings depending on the installation environment. We also provide panels rated for Class I Division 1 and 2 hazardous locations.
Can you match our existing panel standards?
Yes. We regularly work with facility owners who have established panel standards for component brands, wire colors, labeling schemes, and layout preferences. We'll match your standards exactly or help you develop new ones.
Do you ship panels to remote locations?
Yes. We regularly ship panels to remote sites throughout Alaska and the Western US, including barge-accessible locations. We design shipping crates and secure panels for the rigors of long-distance and remote-area transport.
